The first day of the popular New York City Winter Jazzfest features Bobby Previte’s TERMINALS, with John Medeski, Nels Cline, So Percussion, special guests, and Helado Negro.
Winter Jazzfest celebrates its 10-year anniversary in New York by launching this very special show, which highlights Previte’s TERMINALS. The night is made possible with the support from Six Point Brewery, and it promises to be one of the top New York Events in January near The Manhattan Hotel – An NYC Hotel.

TERMINALS, PART I: DEPARTURES is a thrilling and prolific marriage of classical and improvised jazz. The evening-length piece premiered on March 28th, 2011, at Merkin Hall, as a joint production of WNYC/ John Schaefer’s “New Sounds Live” and the Ecstatic Festival. Catching a performance of TERMINALS is sure to be one of the most fun NY Things to do this month.
Throughout the rest of Winter Jazzfest NYC, New York residents and visitors have the opportunity to listen to jazz in 9 different venues and enjoy more than 90 jazz groups, which include more than 400 musicians.
Winter Jazzfest’s mission each year is to showcase top-quality jazz acts, and get them in front of industry professionals, avid jazz fans, and new audiences.
The first Winter Jazzfest in NYC introduced many jazz artists who were underexposed at the time. Since that inaugural Event in NYC, the Festival has continued to offer a forum for music enthusiasts to support the future of jazz and the musicians they love.
Winter Jazzfest NYC has featured artists like Lawrence D. “Butch” Morris, David Murray, Meshell Ndegeocello, The Bad Plus, Nels Cline, Dave Douglas, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Jason Moran, and many other musicians and acts who have gone on to perform in concert halls, performing arts venues, and prominent clubs around the world.
There are hundreds more than this who have thrived in a richer and more energized music scene, thanks to the opportunities created at Winter Jazzfest. If you’re in New York City during January and want to attend one of the top music Events in NYC of the year, consider spending an evening at one of the Winter Jazzfest performances.
