Brunch has become a New York must-do, almost up there with visiting the Empire State Building, but if the idea of plain old brunch isn't that appealing, you can one-up it with Hornblower's Jazzy Champagne Brunch Cruise. Macy's annual two-week floral exhibition returns this year with a patriotic theme of "America the Beautiful." Expect the ground floor of the department store's Herald Square location to be transformed into a veritable botanical garden with a stunning variety of native plants. Starting March 20, the various bouquets and arrangements will pay a beautiful homage to our country.

January 1st has come and gone, but if you still haven't gotten your New Year fix, then check out the Better Chinatown Society's celebration of the Chinese New Year on February 8th at Sara D. Roosevelt Park. Located less than twenty minutes from our Times Square hotel, celebrate the Year of the Monkey with a massive five-hundred thousand firecracker display (yes, you read that number right), as well as lion dances with colorful masks and costumes, craft vendors and food booths filled with dumplings and other tasty traditional goodies.
