The Stonewall Uprising and Pride Marches
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. Back on June 28, 1969, the police raided the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, a hub for New York’s LGBTQIA+ community. Angry by the constant raids, the community fought back and, in doing so, changed the course of the city’s history. If you want to commemorate this historical event and show your support to the ongoing challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, join the following events.
